Getting Active With Sole Mate’s

While many people wait until the new year to make adjustments to their workout schedule, we feel that right now is the best time to start planning. Whether you’re looking to take up running, hitting the gym, or joining cross-fit, we’ve got some things that can help you pre, post, and during your workouts! From custom orthotics to compression sleeves, you’ll be exercising in comfort in no time.

Over the last few months, we’ve talked about a few different ailments that affect our feet. The pain from Achilles tendonitis, metatarsalgia, and plantar fasciitis can all be exacerbated by exercise. If you’re starting a new exercise routine and find your feet suffering, it’s time to reach out. A combination of properly fitting shoes, and custom orthotics can alleviate the pain and keep you moving.

Off-the-shelf shoes are fantastic and convenient, but they don’t always offer the best in comfort for your feet. Every person’s foot is different, and more often than not, your own two feet are not the same. This is where custom orthotics come in. A custom orthotic is a device that can be discreetly inserted into your shoes to support, align, alleviate pain, redistribute pressure, prevent and/or accommodate foot abnormalities and improve how the foot and body function. Here at Sole Mate’s we asset your foot’s shape, and your gait, among other things, to create custom-made orthotics to help you exercise in comfort.

After a workout, it’s good to feel tired. It helps us realize that we’ve pushed ourselves and had a great workout, run, or bike ride. There is a difference, though, between tired and fatigued. If you find yourself with a feeling of fatigue in your arms and legs, you may be ready for compression therapy. Compression garments, like tights, socks, or sleeves, support your muscles, minimizing the shake they experience during exercise. With muscular vibration minimized, the exhaustion and fatigue you may feel are also minimized. Less fatigue means shorter downtime between workouts and longer sessions!

Getting healthy and active is something to be applauded. While it can be difficult, there are steps you can take to make it easier. If you need help, we’re here for you. Reach out and book your appointment today!
